Amanda and Ronnie first met for a research meeting when they were both medical students at Duke University. Unknowingly, Ronnie arrived late to what would later become the most important research meeting of his life. After this, they continued to run into each other everywhere they went including the Duke gym, Whole Foods, and restaurants, a testament to their shared interests and lifestyles. Ronnie played a large part in convincing Amanda to attend Duke for plastic surgery residency.  After some degree of perserverance on Ronnie's part, she finally agreed to go out with him in November of her intern year, and the rest was history. Outside of the hospital, Ronnie introduced Amanda to her now favorite things including coffee, sushi, golden doodles, dating reality television, and Lebanese food. They welcomed their first child, a mini golden doodle named Lucy, into their lives in 2022. After four years together, he asked her to marry him in May of 2023. Their wedding will be in 2025 as Amanda nears completion of her chief year in plastic surgery residency at Duke and as Ronnie finishes his first fellowship year in reconstructive microsurgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City. Both living in NC for the past decade, they discovered Highlands during residency and couldn't think of a more beautiful location to celebrate with you!
